ABPI annual report on UK clinical research

Today sees the publication of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) annual report on UK clinical research. The report outlines how the UK has demonstrated it’s massive potential for clinical research during what has been a huge period of pandemic-driven upheaval, with the UK undertaking the most Covid-19 trials in Europe within 2020. However, the impact of the pandemic on non-Covid research is also laid bare, with recruitment to studies falling dramatically and the recovery of commercial activity lagging behind that of comparable EU countries.
