Online SoECAT to be mandatory from April 2023

The National Institute of Health and Social Care Research (NIHR) have confirmed that, following a phased roll-out over several funding schemes in the last year, the Excel version of Schedule of Events Cost Attribution Template (SoECAT) will not be used for any Phase 2 funding applications beyond the 31st March 2023.

Guidance has been circulated to funding organisations to confirm the switch and provide information to circulate to any applicants planning projects ‘involving the recruitment of participants’. The ‘Funder Export’ of the SoECAT will be created via the NIHR Central Portfolio Management System (CPMS).

The ‘Online SoECAT Guidance’ from the NIHR is available here, though this has currently (as of 2/3/23) not been updated with the full online roll-out details.
