UK Government launch new ‘Science and Technology Framework’

Yesterday saw the publication of the new Science and Technology Framework by the UK Government. The framework promises to deliver £500m of new and existing funding into the UK science and technology sectors, with ‘Health and Life Sciences’ identified as one of the key areas for investment and development. Of particular interest to those working in the oversight and management of clinical research will be the commitment to develop a ‘pro-innovation approach to regulating AI’, to be detailed in a White Paper early this year.

However, the Framework is currently quite light on detail, and unfortunately does not feature health or life sciences that prominently.

You can read the government’s 10-point plan and download the full Framework document here.
